A steely glare into the eye of 2025 America under Trump.

There’s a reason I haven’t written anything for a while; I’ve been struggling to find the words to capture the zeitgeist out there without coming off as too hyperbolic, yet now I have resolved myself to the fact that there’s no way to accurately describe America’s current political clusterf**k without using the words alarming and panic-inducing.

Not that I was in any way fazed by the assassination attempt of the former orange buffoon in chief. As controversial as it may have become recently to admit, Trump — with all his years of violent bluster and rhetoric — had it a long time coming, and I’m honestly more surprised that it didn’t happen sooner, (like in his first term, nay in his first month, in the Whitehouse) than anything else.

All and any feigned niceties and necessary politeness aside on the part of the Democrats, however, the stress and the fear and the sorrow induced by the freshly reinvigorated possibility of an impending MAGA administration is a frightening thing to behold, and I believe that it is high time we come to grips with what the US under Trump in 2025 might really look like.

It’s difficult to imagine anything worse than the combination of outdated, fundamentalist Christian dogma with the ‘greed is good,’ predatory capitalist Darwinism of…
