Eloquently put, I wholeheartedly agree, bravo! What a sad way to organize society...this unhealthy focus on competition just means that instead of collectively evolving, we're individually perishing.

I don't understand why everyone complains this version of democracy doesn't work at all and then turn their noses up at any alternatives though. I think it's really high time we, as a civilization in general, try something new. Within a single week of instituting direct democracy (votes on policy not personalities) the technocracy would crumble!
