They never even consider it, because they already have their eyes set on the prize and are never willing to back down or compromise.

The last several wars that the US-EU dream team entangled themselves up in ended in disaster for everyone involved and some of them never ended at all - look at Syria.
I just think it's reasonable to suggest that if Putin is looking for a way out and seeking to sit down with Zelensky, the Western allies should, for once, consider it an option to end this tragedy.
