Great quote, and absolutely right.

People who aren't really paying attention wonder why society has become so dysfunctional, but there's no mystery to any of it once you start realizing that inequality at these kind of levels creates distortions and aberrations in every aspect of socio-political life.

The real mystery is how they've managed to keep this charade going so long!

How can the establishment possibly believe that they can maintain a system where millions of people do not have the basic necessities they need to survive, while those at the top make off like bandits?

It destroys communities, social cohesion, the collective standard of education and health, trust in mainstream institutions....the list goes on and on.

And then the academics and the media act puzzled as to why there's so many extremist groups, and conspiratorially-minded type cults popping up everywhere wanting to dismantle the system.....how willfully blind can they be?
