Greed, they have tried to convince us, is an inherent trait of the average human that we naturally possess and have no control over. Given the chance or the opportunity, they believe everyone would be a gluttonous, greedy slob.

The reality, in my view at least, is however that a small group of psychopaths and sociopaths have designed a system that rewards greed, while punishing our natural tendency towards cooperation and altruism.

Under the purview of such a paradigm, the worst of our tendencies flourish, while true love, compassion, friendship - and all the things we really want and need in life - are diminished.

These people truly are freaks and if we do not manage to reign them in via regulation and law, for the sake of all of society, we are quite literally a doomed species.
