Oceania, that is the UK/US, have been very war-like for the past several decades and have invaded more countries than I can count. They have also fostered a culture of militarism that is quite frightening to behold, especially in the US.

The neo-cons in Washington have pushed for war at every available opportunity for a plethora of reasons, one being that they are beholden to the military-industrial complex. They have also brought a sense of militancy to the police force by providing them with arms and vehicles not suitable for domestic use, and have encouraged gun ownership, even to the point of defending assault weapons after mass shootings. In this way they have nurtured a culture of violence that, as I see it, is now deeply entrenched in American society.
