There is definitely a loneliness pandemic going on around the world that is most acute in the elderly, yet is growing at an alarming rate amongst younger people too. Technology, it seems, has driven us further apart, as social media has become more about promoting the self than actually communicating effectively.

Intiatives like the one you got involved in will be vital moving forward and I applaud you for your efforts.

This article is more about opening up to one another about our economic plight in order to address the elephant in the room: that neoliberal capitalism is not working for the vast majority of us. But being more transparent about loneliness is just as important in order to dismantle the stigma around this topic.
