It's not just because Ukraine is smaller, or poorer, or anything like that - it's more about what Ukraine, through this war, has come to represent: the focal point of West-East tensions and the potential trigger for a WWIII type scenario.

The longer this conflict continues, the more vicious Putin and his minions will inevitably become.

Unless we want to experience the genesis of a nuclear holocaust, concessions must be made on both sides and yes, a little humility embraced.
