Supreme Court Paves Way for the Next D.O.T.U.S

America’s terrifying slide into autocracy over the past several decades has just been given a forceful shove by the Supreme Court into outright totalitarianism vis-a-vis one simple act; the granting of complete impunity to Presidents for “official acts” while in office.
As if the 2024 election could not be more nerve-wracking, the right-wing faction within the Supreme Court have decided to ratchet it up a notch and hand over unprecedented powers to whoever sits in the Whitehouse for the next four years, paving the way for a dictatorship the likes of which the U.S. has never seen.
With outrageous and unforgiveable disregard for the notion that everybody is equal under the law, and given Trump’s natural penchant for rampant criminality, this outlandish ruling speaks volumes about the current state of American democracy and credence in the rule of law.
We need not ask for further evidence that the United States has devolved into a plutocratic, rule by the rich, wild west, but this one Supreme Court decision.
