Thanks Bruce! Agreed; I believe the full effects of neoliberal policies are being felt all over the globe now, across every sector of society at large. Perhaps in the 80s and early 90s, it was still plausible to defend economic policies that vastly favoured the wealthy at the expense of everybody else, yet when you have failing healthcare systems, collapsing democracies and a major decline in the standard of living across the board, it's becoming increasingly outrageous to argue that this economy works for anyone but the top 1-10%. The elite know the jig is up and are getting nervous. That's why they're stashing their loot in secret offshore accounts, while also building underground bunkers.

I don't think the nepotism is overstated here. In an economy made by the wealthy, for the wealthy, them and their families are the only ones that matter, everyone else be damned. If the kid isn't talented enough to stay in show biz, you can be sure they'll get a cushy little number somewhere else no problem.
