Thanks for the comment Holly! And yes, the labour market has changed so much. In Europe, they call it "Flexicurity" - meaning consistently flexible and insecure workers. They actually promote this as a policy for businesses, insisting that workers love having the supposed freedom that comes with zero-hour contracts and zero benefits.
In the end, it's just another means to squeeze young workers and pit them against each other in a vicious race to the bottom. If you won't work for 9euro an hour on permanent probation, we have a million others who will - that's the general attitude of employers! It's outrageous! Retirement is not an option for most of us,....we don't even have pensions.
