In fairness, there are so many easy and effective solutions to the myriad and ever-growing issues living under a corporatocracy inflicts upon society; practical steps that governments around the world could implement tomorrow if they felt like - supporting worker co-ops, for example, capping CEO wages, vastly increasing severance packages and re-employment supports that companies who fire must adhere to, increasing unemployment benefits, financing re-training programs.....honestly the list is endless.
But of course, part of the reality of the corporatocracy is that governments have long been beholden to corporate interests and regulatory capture is almost complete. They don't bother trying any of these things because they do not serve the people, they serve the billionaire class who fund them.
Due to monopolization, the standard of everything is deteriorating - from the quality of the jobs on offer, to the lousy products that fall apart, to the crappy, over-priced services. I agree that we need to bring things back down to the level of mom and pop stores at this stage if we want any degree of equality and quality.
